3 Credit Scores – Find Out About The Authorities Who Maintain Your Credit Score

When we wish to borrow money, our credit worthiness needs to be high.  Repayment of the loan is an important factor the lender always considers before approving the loan request.  Credit bureaus generally supply information about borrowers to the lenders.  These bureaus do the important work of studying the credit history of a person and then coming up with a credit score.  The risk attached to extending a loan to that person is indicated by the credit score figure.  As the credit score goes up, the likelihood of the borrower paying back the loan amount increases.  So if you are applying for a loan, it would be good for you to know about the three credit scores.

There are three separate American credit bureaus.  These credit bureaus are the Experian, TransUnion and Equifax.  The job of these bureaus is to analyze individual credit data and calculate corresponding credit scores.  The credit score is essentially an indication of the credit worthiness of the borrower.  For calculating individual credit scores, separate methods are taken up by these three credit bureaus.  As a result, the individual conclusions of these 3 agencies are often not the same.  An automated software is used for calculating the credit score.  This software is created by Fair Issac Corporation (FICO).  There are those who thus also call them FICO scores.

The three credit score figures are generally studied together in a credit report.  The VanatageScore credit score is also calculated by all the bureaus, just like the 3 free credit scores.  Generally, VantageScore can assume any value between 501 and 900.  The range of the FICO credit score is 300 to 850.

The good news is, you will be able to have access to your credit score, and you will not have to pay anything for this.  There are many credit report monitoring services of the credit bureaus, and you will need to subscribe to any one of them.  The credit bureaus supply this information to the lenders as well so that they can arrive at a conclusion as to your credit worthiness.  Based on these credit scores, they can decide whether to lend money to a borrower or not.

What is the reason that makes it essential for you to know about your credit score?  That is because, it is possible that there is an error in the report.  The agencies often maintain your credit reports for up to 7 years and thus, it always makes sense to verify whether it is correct or not.  Thus, get informed about three credit scores, and learn where to go and what to do so that you can know about it.  You must definitely have the information about this.
